Behaviour Change Programming

This is an interesting, easy-to-read, and accessible summary of work done in Tanzania on how to create the right sort of health messages and strategies for different types of stakeholders (e.g. mothers, fathers and health workers).

The health areas included…

  • Family planning/reproductive health (FP/RH)
  • HIV
  • malaria
  • Maternal, newborn and child health
  • tuberculosis.

Especially interesting are the drivers for change and the resulting messages. The study contributes to our understanding of why the discovery conversations we have in our Participatory Inquiry Process are so important. We’d like to see the children included in the study as stakeholders and activists who have a lot to contribute to the conversation and who can be powerful, positive influencers in their families.
