NEW! PCAANS Toolkit Launch!

We are very pleased to launch our PCAANS toolkit for educators! Many of you will have been following this project for years, it began in 2011. The PCAANS approach was implemented between 2014 and 2016 in 12 schools in Tsangano District, Tete Province

PCAAN mobilised children 10-14 years old to understand, learn and share government approved nutrition and hygiene messages and activities with the aim of decreasing malnutrition through behaviour change communication. The participatory approach allows children to identify opportunities and challenges and this ensures the programme is relevant to lives of the children and their families.

Children are effective nutrition and hygiene activists.

Use the links below to download it for FREE and do let us know what you think and/or share it with colleagues and others who might be interested in taking a look.

We hope PCAANS (The Participation of Children in Learning and Action for Nutrition and Health) will find a new ‘parent’ to fund and expand the programme. It’s a valued government school-based programme that was developed by children and educators in Mozambique that was tested and has succeeded.
