We describe the core work of Children for Health as having four pillars:
Pillar 2: Programme Optimisation
We have a suite of services to help establish, strengthen or support programmes that aim to develop the role of children as health activists. Our staff have 26 years of experience in the field to draw upon!
Projects we are helping to Optimise
We have been working with the Government of Mozambique on their PCAAN programme since November 2013 – Children’s Participation in Learning and Action for Nutrition (PCAAN in Portuguese!). We have evaluated the pilot phase and we expect the programme to scale in Tete Province. Plans for this are already under-way. Click here to read more about this programme.
With children and educators in the programme, we have developed a PCAAN Trainers Guide, A Teachers’ Guide, four storybooks, A Poster and a Recipe Book for Children.
We are working with Save the Children’s ‘Signature Programmes’ in Pakistan, Nigeria and India. We assisted with project design. We have developed a suite of curriculum materials and we are currently involved in teacher training and master training.
We are working with Literacy Bridge to develop a programme for children in rural Ghana using their innovative, Talking Book’.
We are working with the Afram Plains Development Organisation to plan and implement a nutrition programme in Ghana.
