Vision, Mission & Objectives

Children for Health’s vision is a world in which children are empowered with the knowledge, skills and confidence to contribute to their own health and wellbeing and that of their families and communities.

Our mission is to strengthen health education by placing children at the centre of learning and action. We develop practical, participatory approaches that enable children not only to understand important health information, but also to communicate and act on it within their schools, families and communities.

Our key objectives are to:

  • improve children’s health literacy and their ability to make informed decisions about health and wellbeing;
  • develop and promote participatory approaches that recognise children as active contributors to healthier families and communities;
  • equip educators, community organisations and other partners with practical approaches and resources for effective child-centred health education;
  • work with governments, schools and local organisations to strengthen the integration and sustainability of child-centred health education; and
  • share learning and evidence to encourage wider adoption of effective approaches to children’s participation in health.

Through this approach, Children for Health aims to strengthen prevention and health literacy while ensuring that children’s voices, capabilities and potential to influence positive change are recognised.
