We strive to strengthen child, family, and community health by building children’s health literacy, leadership, and agency as a foundation for prevention and wellbeing.
Children for Health (CfH) is an organisation dedicated to strengthening children’s health literacy and agency, empowering them to contribute meaningfully to the health and resilience of themselves, their families, communities, and wider systems. Our approach recognises children as health change agents, enabling knowledge and practices to transfer across households and into the next generation, a “+1 generation” effect that amplifies prevention and long term wellbeing.
For more than a decade, CfH has worked with partners, communities and health systems around the world to design, co-create and share child-centred health promotion approaches that build understanding, choice and sustained behaviour change. CfH’s work is grounded in the evidence that when children understand health information in ways that are relevant, engaging and actionable, they become powerful agents of prevention, sharing life-saving knowledge with peers, family members and community networks.
We develop and support community-oriented health promotion models. Our focus emphasises health outcomes, through strengthened community health behaviours and enhanced child leadership capacity. Our approaches are informed by systems based thinking that recognises health literacy as a key upstream determinant of health.
We work across diverse contexts, because child health inequities exist everywhere. This global orientation enables CfH to build broad partnerships and access diversified support while advancing prevention strategies that are locally owned and culturally anchored.
Our collaborations span non-governmental organisations, education and health systems, community groups, and young leaders, all united by a shared vision: children empowered with health knowledge and the confidence to influence health decisions at household and community levels.
Through practical engagement, evidence informed tools, and participatory methods, CfH’s work contributes to healthier communities and more resilient public health systems.

Our Logo symbolises a child’s active and positive engagement and connection with a global communication network. The child is in a position of strength, with the means of communication in their hands, reaching out to acquire the knowledge they need for themself and to share with others in order to live a healthy life.
…the child…
…with the power in their hands…
…to communicate with the world…
…to contribute to the health of their community…
…sharing knowledge and saving lives…
