About Children for Health

Children for Health is an internationally respected NGO focused on child participation in health education. It is built upon the work of Child to Child which was founded in 1979. The founder of CfH worked with CtC for 7 years.

We equip children worldwide to become effective health ambassadors – sharing life-saving knowledge with peers, families, and in their communities. Our materials are widely used in schools, health campaigns, and community programmes across Africa, Asia, and beyond.

We have built a respected brand rooted in the ethos of participation, equity, and education, and we now seek a new CEO to lead the next chapter.

The Opportunity

This is a unique leadership opportunity to take forward a global initiative with a strong foundation and proven impact. The new CEO will:

  • Maintain the heart of our mission – high-quality participatory health education.
  • Strengthen our delivery mechanisms and expand our global reach.
  • Develop a sustainable funding base through strategic partnerships, donor engagement, and network-led fundraising.
  • Cultivate and coordinate a global self-financing network of advocates and country-level champions.

You’ll be working alongside Clare Hanbury, the founder, in a supportive handover period and collaborating with a committed board and active network of partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and refine the 2025–2026 strategy with a focus on network development, visibility, and content promotion.

  • Develop unrestricted income via campaigns like our Box for Health campaign and animated content pitches.

  • Oversee programme delivery and impact monitoring.
  • Guide communications, including digital storytelling, social media and reports.
  • Manage part-time staff, contractors, and volunteers.
  • Report to and collaborate closely with the Board of Trustees.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Proven leadership in the international development and/or education sector.
  • Excellent communicator, comfortable with digital platforms and social media.
